The Directorate of Health Services on Tuesday recorded 52 more deaths raising the total Covid victim count of Goa to 1,372.
Of these, 28 deaths occurred at Goa Medical College and Hospital, 14 deaths at South Goa District Hospital, two deaths each at a private hospital in South Goa, North Goa District Hospital and Primary Health Centre Balli while one death each was recorded at Community Health Centre Curchorem, PHC Loutolim, ESI Covid Hospital and Sub-District Hospital, Chicalim.
Additionally, a total of 2,814 new cases of the infection were detected from among the 6,552 samples posting the daily positivity rate at 42.94 per cent.
Meanwhile, the much-hyped government portal giving information about Covid bed availability remained non-functional on Tuesday, merely three days after launch. The link
https://goaonline.gov.in/beds, which otherwise provided Covid bed availability data which was verified once a day, returned an "error" and users were redirected within 5 seconds to the home page of the website.
A general Covid safety poster containing images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant continued to pop up instead of the PDF of Covid bed availability till late on Tuesday night.
