MARGAO

A host of Bollywood stars descended at Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai’s We For Fatorda Big Fat Carnival festival that got off to a rousing start near the Old Market road junction on Saturday.

The Fatorda MLA took the platform to slam the government for scuttling his Back to the Streets Carnival programme this time around but has vowed to organize the festivities with the support of Fatordekars.

“The government had planned to scuttle our carnival by refusing permission for the Back to the Streets program. But the government cannot stop us from holding Carnival. It belongs to the people. King Momo’s rule should reign supreme for four days, but the government appears hell-bent in

interfering with the festivities,” he said.

Given the bitter controversy surrounding the Margao Carnival festival, Sardesai did not rule out the possibility of the police stopping the show at 10 pm, while asking the gathering to enjoy the festivities.
