Government employees in Goa have been asked to desist from participating in electioneering in the State.

“During election time, government employees should not indulge in any form of political activity. It is completely against the model code of conduct and disciplinary action would be taken if such activities come to our notice,” stated Chief Electoral Officer Kunal, IAS.

Asking government staff to refrain from such activities, Kunal said that some employees are engaged in disseminating election-related content and also posting online election propaganda through social media, which is tantamount to election propaganda and could attract ‘strict disciplinary action’.

“It has also come to notice that some employees are directly involved in other modes of campaigning,” said Kunal warning of strict disciplinary action.
