PANAJI: A government officer has reached the top of the Everest, giving a classic example of balancing work with passion.
PWD's Assistant Engineer Pankaj Narvekar has become the first Goan to reach the top of Mount Everest, a feat marked on May 21, 2024.
Last year, 41-year-old Pankaj and his daughter, Gunjan, who was 12 years old at the time, set another impressive record when they became the youngest team from Goa to finish the Everest Base Camp (EBC) Trek in Nepal.
They were part of a group of 16 people, which included 15 Indians and one foreigner. Gunjan was the youngest member, and Pankaj was the oldest, both showing great courage and enthusiasm in their adventure.
