Govt forms Sagarmala Committee

The State has constituted 16-member State Sagarmala Committee (SSC) under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.

The committee would be responsible for co-ordination and implementation of individual project under Sagarmala, including the ones through Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). It will also oversee the development of each coastal economy zone through individual project.   
It will also be responsible for port infrastructure enhancement including modernization and setting up of new port under submission on National Sagarmala Apex Committee (NSAC).  
The Sagarmala Yojana of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government is primarily based on development of ports infrastructure across the Country.  
The Minister for Ports will be the vice-chairman while Secretary (Ports) has been appointed the member secretary. The other members include Secretary (Finance), DIG (Police), Tourism Director, Chief Engineer of Water Resources Department, Captain of Ports, Agriculture Director, GCZMA Member Secretary, GSPCB Chairman, and Fisheries Director, among others.

MAPUSA   A vendor was apparently shoved by Municipal Inspector, Tayo Gadekar in the new vegetable market in the morning.
