Govt forms task force to focus on strategic investments

The State government has constituted a ten-member Task Force Committee under Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho to identify key sectors for strategic industrial and infrastructure investment.

In a notification issued, Under Secretary Industries Vivek Naik has said that the Task Force will also have to exchange ideas, build consensus and advise on holistic solutions on balanced industrial and socio-economic development in consultation with various 

industrial associations.

“The Task Force Committee shall identify key sectors of industrial and infrastructural improvements, which need to be undertaken or expedited to attract investments,” the notification stated, adding that the Committee will also have to recommend measures to fast-track clearances to promote the investments in those sectors.

The Committee has to also suggest, design and support socio-economic development across various sectors in the State for its growth.

The committee is headed by the Industries Minister while the Chief Executive Officer of the Goa Investment Promotion Board is appointed as its member secretary.

The other members of the committee include Chief Secretary, Secretaries of department of industries, power, tourism, skill development and civil aviation. The president of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI) and Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) are also on the committee.

PANAJIThe Goa Medical Council has published and released the list of Goa’s registered medical practitioners having on the roster some 3,840 doctors.Of these, as many as 232 new doctors were registered in the 10 months between January and October this year. The list has been published and displayed on the board outside the Council’s office and prints are also available.
