Tourism Minister Manohar Babu Ajgaonkar has stated that various government offices operating in private buildings across Pernem town will be shifted to the bus stand complex.

He was speaking during the opening ceremony of new bus stand at Pernem, a much-awaited project built at a cost of Rs 25 crore and hastily inaugurated in December 2016 despite being incomplete. The delay to complete the project had been the cause for several agitations, as people were unhappy that the bus stand could not be put to use since December 2016

On his election as MLA of Pernem, Azgaonkar expedited the process to complete the pending works.

Speaking further, Ajgaonkar said he warned bus operators that he would not tolerate delay of buses and traffic jams at the bus stand. “Private bus operators should avoid delays and police should keep control on traffic. Such inconveniences to public won’t be tolerated,” the minister warned.

Ajgaonkar also assured to provide jobs within his control only to youth of Pernem constituency and promised to resign as MLA and minister if outsiders are given those jobs.

Requesting Dr Vasudev Deshprabhu and Jitendra Deshprabhu to give their NOC for land in Pernem Ajgaonkar said; “If we get an NOC, the area near Bhagvati Temple and Rawalnath Temple will be beautified.”
