Admitting that maintenance of sports infrastructure like stadiums was a huge challenge, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the government was toying with the idea of adopting a public-private partnership (PPP) model to take care of the stadiums in the State after the National Games.
Sawant on Friday also disclosed that various sports associations have also been tasked with the job of maintaining sports infrastructure.
“The government may go for public-private partnership (PPP) only for maintenance. So far nothing is finalised but I can assure you that after the National Games we will explore ways of how each and every stadium is maintained.
He said the government will have to spend a little extra on maintenance but it’s something that has to be done.
