The State government has invited suggestions from the members and components of the Communidade for drafting the agenda for the upcoming Comunidade Convention scheduled on January 14, 2024.
The Revenue department has informed all the members and components of comunidades of the three zones - Central, North and South, to share the list of a maximum two delegates to attend the convention latest by December 26.
“Further Agenda Suggestions are invited from the members/ components of the Comunidades to be included in the Agenda points latest by January 2, 2024. The same should be submitted to the respective Administrator of Comunidade or directly may be sent on the email id of the Commission i.e. [email protected],” the government said.
The department informed that the based on the inputs being received from the respective Comunidades, the Agenda for the convention will be finalized by the five-member Commission by January 5, 2024 and same will be uploaded/ available for information on official websites, of Collector (North) on https://northgoa.gov.in/ & Collector (South) on https://southgoa.nic.in/ by 8th January, 2024, apart from service, through normal mode.
“All the Comunidades are requested to extend their full co-operation in timely submitting the above details before due date in order to streamline and foster the progress of the age old institution of Comunidades in Goa,” the department said.
The government last month appointed five member commission comprising Estifano C. D’mello, Attorney of Pilerne Comunidade, Nelson Joe Fernandes, Attorney of Assagao Comunidade, Marvin Stanislavs Gonsalves, Member of Bambolim Comunidade, Savio Joaquim Filipe Correia, President Comunidade of Margao and Avinash Tavares, President Comunidade of Colva.
