Launches work to hotmix Goa-Belagavi road via Chorla

Stating that the State government is serious about good road connectivity in the State, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar said several roads will be hotmixed before the monsoon.
He was addressing a gathering after launching the work to hotmix the Goa-Belagavi road via Chorla at the Goa border.
“The hotmixing of this road had been a long-pending demand from locals, motorists and commuters, as this is an important road connecting Goa and Karnataka via Choirla. The central government sanctioned some fund for this roadwork, while the State government will put in some funds,” said Pauskar.
“A 16-km of the road between Keri till the Goa border will be hotmixed and the work will be completed within 40 days. The roadwork is of good quality and is expected to last for many years.”
“The State government is serious about good road connectivity in the State and many road will be hotmixed before the monsoon,” he added.
Pauskar performed the pooja on January 26 to commence the roadwork, which has has been taken up at a cost of about Rs 11.89 crore
Keri Sarpanch Govinda Gawas thanked the State government for starting the hotmixing work.
“The road was in a bad state since the last one year and locals had made several demands to get the road repaired. The Keri panchayat has also petitioned the PWD to repair the road at the earliest,” said Gawas.
Officials from the PWD and other agencies were present at the function.
