Assuring that the State government will construct a multipurpose Ravindra Bhavan at Tuem in Mandrem constituency for the benefit of local artistes, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude said the foundation stone for the project would be laid within two months.
Gaude was responding to queries by media persons regarding the Ravindra Bhavan, when he had gone to inaugurate the Pernem Indoor Stadium in the presence of Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar.
Stating that several Ravindra Bhavans have been constructed across the State, the minister said a multipurpose Ravindra Bhavan will be set up in Pernem, after considering the persistent demands of artistes in the taluka.
“Land measuring 50,000 sq. mtrs has been earmarked in Tuem and a temporary committee has been constituted under the leadership of Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar and artistes from all parts of Pernem constituency,” said Gaude.
“The state government has given consent to construct this Ravindra Bhavan. The process has already started at the primary level and land will be transferred to the Directorate of Art and culture in a few days. Modalities of this project will be worked out and the foundation stone will be laid within two months,” said Gaude.
