Sesa Football Academy secured a spot in the final of the Batora United Curtorim Women's Festival Soccer Tournament after defeating Calangute Association 2-0 at the DSYA Ground in Curtorim on Tuesday.
Rezilla Almeida opened the scoring for Sesa Football Academy in the 10th minute. Calangute Association had a chance to respond in the 15th minute, but Christine missed the opportunity to level the score. Almeida then sealed the victory for Sesa Football Academy with her second goal in the 47th minute.
The event's chief guest, Girjadevi Desai, a Physical Education Teacher at Ramacrisna Madeva Salgaocar Higher Secondary School in Margao, presented the "Woman of the Match" award to Almeida. Desai, who holds an AFC B License and AFC Futsal Level 2 License, is the only woman in India with a Futsal Level 2 License. She has coached IWL teams such as Churchill Brothers, the Goa State Team, and Goa University teams.
The ceremony was attended by Francisco Fernandes, GFA Match Commissioner, and other dignitaries.
