“He has illegally registered the sale deed, taken a licence for farmhouse and running commercial business in the form of night club. And in the last 6 months excise department has issued him a licence to start bar business,” said Lobo.
Stating that the person running business possesses a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) card, Parsekar informed that the Excise Department has issued him a license for retail sale of Indian-made foreign liquor, country liquor and foreign liquor for consumption purpose at the restaurant premises bearing H No 82 (Sy no. 44/0), at Sim Vaddo, Arpora Village of Bardez Taluka.
“He has a PIO card, because of which his application might have been pursued. If need be I can review it,” said Parsekar.
He however informed that in three cases such licences were issued “ in Loutulim, Assagao and in Nagoa, Arpora.
“Let us seek opinion of Law Department. The moment it is proved to be illegal, the licence will be cancelled,” assured Parsekar.
