WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar on Wednesday said the government will take up work on phase II of river Sal desilting in the next two months.
The Minister further announced that irrigation water will make its presence in all the canals across Goa on November 15, facilitating farmers to start agricultural activities.
Briefing the media at the BJP South Goa district office on Wednesday, Shirodkar said the WRD will take up desilting of around 150 lakes and ponds across Goa.
He, however, hastened to add that the WRD will not just desilt the water bodies but also leave no stone unturned to bring farmers back to agriculture and revive the fallow lands.
Shirodkar said all WRD works will commence in November and end in May.
