MAPUSA
Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar on Wednesday assured that the roads which have been dug up in Mapusa would be repaired within eight days.
Dhavalikar was speaking while interacting with people in Mapusa as part of the Panchayat Chalo Abhiyan.
Locals and councillors had presented various issues before the minister, and a common grievance included roads dug up in the city to lay underground cables, making it difficult to move around the market place. While assuring that the roads which are dug would be repaired in eight days, Dhavalikar promised to look into other issues and resolve them.
MMC Councillor Dr Tarak Arolkar stated that in his ward a well had collapsed last year and many homes were dependent on this well.
“There is a lack of administrative support to resolve this issue. During the last two-and-a-half years we had passed 29 proposals but not even one has been implemented. The issue of the well needs to be resolved,” he said.
Councillors Sudhir Kandolkar, Sainath Raul, Shubhangi Vaingankar, Priya Mishal, Sushant Harmalkar and Kayle Braganza mentioned issues regarding old electricity poles and roads.
