Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said the State government will provide 10 per cent reservation for Agniveers in Goa Police, Fire & Emergency Services and other uniformed services. The scheme, he said, is already notified.
“Goa government will provide a 10 per cent quota for Agniveers from Goa (for recruitment) in police, fire and other uniformed services. The central government has already given them reservations... the Goa government offers this quota,” he said before leaving for Delhi on Friday evening to attend NITI Aayog meeting and CM’s conclave this week.
“We are encouraging Goan youth to join Agniveer,” the CM added. Agniveers are jawans selected for four years under a short term recruitment scheme called Agnipath with recruitment drives taking places across different parts of the country including Goa.
At the meeting scheduled in Delhi, the CM said that various flagship programs initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be reviewed. This will be the first meeting after the Lok Sabha polls.
