PANAJI
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar has filed a complaint at the Panaji police station accusing the 10 ex-Congress MLAs, who defected to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019, of forgery and fraud, a day after Goa legislative assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar dismissed his disqualification petition against them.
In his complaint, Chodankar alleged that the 10 MLAs, including three cabinet ministers, “conspired together and fraudulently created a false document claiming it to be a resolution of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee.”
“I have filed the complaint as the president of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee and as the overall in-charge and custodian of records, which includes register books which are maintained for recording minutes of the meetings of the Committee,” Chodankar’s complaint said.
