The grievances are lodged for various reasons including for services not rendered as well issues such as public access, illegalities etc. Some grievances are pending as far back as 2012-13.

In his reply to a question from Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte which was to come up in the assembly, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar who is also the minister of public grievances said that once the grievance is received from the public, his department examines it and forwards the same to the concerned Head of Department to take necessary action within time limit ie two to three weeks.

“As soon as action taken report received, the same is being forwarded to the concerned person for information,” Parsekar said adding that if there is no action reminders are sent to Head of Departments for taking necessary action in the matter and redress the grievances in stipulated time.
