According to RDA Minister and Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, the vessel is likely to be broken and the
final decision will be taken by the collector and other
authorities.
“It is likely that the pontoon would be split by Friday or Saturday, which is the only likely solution to remove the vessel from the site,” Saldanha told The Goan.
A few days back, the tugboat ‘Lotus’, which was also grounded, was towed away.
Some villagers of Arossim fear that the pontoon could damage the environment and even it could pose a danger to tourists visiting the beach in the summer, apart from being an eyesore.
The Goenchea Ramponkarancho Ekvott, a traditional fishermen body has also demanded the immediate removal of the grounded vessel.
