The Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) will provide an “Onsite Oxygen Generating Plant” for the Covid-19 Hospital at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore, in a bid to help the State government in its fight against the pandemic.
The proposed oxygen plant will generate 960 litres of medical oxygen per minute and will be setup by GSL within a month, said Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik.
“Considering the urgency of medical oxygen, GSL is providing 40 oxygen concentrators at an estimated cost of Rs 26 lakh to the State government, of which 4 oxygen concentrators have already been delivered to health authorities in the State.”
“This will strengthen the State government’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Further to contain the spread of COVID“19, an isolation centre with 25 beds has been kept ready at GSL, Unit III at Zuarinagar,” Naik added.
