The government has notified the North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa as a 150-bedded dedicated Covid-19 Hospital with immediate effect wherein only suspects or confirmed Covid cases will be admitted and treated.
The Medical Superintendent cum Deputy Director of North Goa District Hospital, Mapusa will be in charge of the same.
Meanwhile, the State Health Minister said that the new Covid facility at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim is almost ready.
“I would like to sincerely appreciate the efforts of our team who has managed to set up this facility within a couple hours,” he tweeted.
The Health Minister also inspected the new premises of the Goa Dental College, which is currently under construction. “We are trying to determine if this facility can be used for Covid patients in the state,” he said.
