Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) won the prestigious 'PSU organizations with Innovative HR Practices' award at award function of Asia Pacific HRM Congress 2016 organised at Bangalore.

According to a press note, this award commemorates Public Sector Undertakings who despite multifarious challenges have managed to drive the organization ahead with innovative HR practices and set HR excellence benchmarks.

The two-day event featured HR leaders from public sector undertakings and private sectors. GSL in its long existence has managed to integrate seamlessly various HR practices with changing times and has received several awards in the area of HR & CSR.

With the progressive HR practices, the industrial relations scenario has remained cordial and harmonious.

The award was received by GSL, CGM (HR&A) Dr Pramod Mohan Johri, who was recently been conferred with HR Leadership Award in the individual category by Greentech Foundation. GSL thus has been receiving several awards for its innovative HR practices, states the press note.

Sonsodo dump capping or segregation: debate rages

In an interesting development, the sub-committee on Sonsodo waste management headed by MLA Digambar Kamat on Thursday almost decided to abandon GSUDA’s project for bio-remediation of the existing dump and revive the capping proposal, before Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourneco had the meeting adjourned to facilitate an inspection of a similar dump at Saligao before taking a final call on whether the Sonsodo dump should be capped or segregated.
