The Goa Suraksha Manch has said it would contest the by-election in Shiroda and said its candidate would be announced shortly.

GSM Vice President Govind Dev addressed a news conference on Tuesday to announce the party’s plans in the presence of GSM leaders Harshad Devari and Santosh Satarkar.

“The GSM has already started meeting people of Shiroda and we have been getting good support. We are on the field with full swing, as GSM is the only option to clean the political mess. Hence, we are appealing people to support us,” Dev said.

Accusing TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai of vote bank politics on late Jack Sequeira, Dev said: “We condemn Sardesai’s statements against our leader Subhash Velingkar. Sardesai is doing vote bank politics over Sequeira’s statue.”

Dev said Santosh Satarkar has been appointed the working committee president for Shiroda constituency. “We will campaign in Shiroda with full force and we have appointed Satarkar to carry out the party work in the constituency,” he said.
