Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) on Thursday said that it will set up an Administrative Reforms Commission after coming to power to suggest reduction in the number of ministers in the State Cabinet, as well as reduction in the number of corporations, boards and societies.
Addressing a press conference in Panaji, GSM president Anand Shirodkar said, “After BJP came to power, there has been a four-fold rise in corruption. To eradicate this, we have taken a decision to set up an Administrative Reforms Commission, which will curb all corrupt practices. After we come to power, we will reduce the number of ministers in the Cabinet. Additionally, the number of corporations and boards, which have mushroomed during BJP’s rule, will be reduced to nearly half. We are certain that this will help in curbing corruption in the State.”
Stating that the State BJP has expressed no confidence in Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, he said, “Parrikar said that Goa would become cashless by December 31, but the State BJP, including the Chief Minister, has admitted that the State cannot become cashless so soon. Contradicting Parrikar is as good as expressing no confidence in him.”
GSM also said that once they come to power, they will direct the contractors of Mopa airport to start skill development programmes for Goan youth.
“We will put a condition that as far as all the semi-skilled and unskilled employment opportunities are concerned, these should be provided only to Goans,” he said.
GSM also announced another set of three candidates “ Pandurang Raut for Bicholim, Shyam Satardekar for Curchorem and Nandan Sawant for Mapusa.
