GTDC claims sealed restaurant opened illegally at Miramar

PANAJI

Panaji police have registered a criminal case after the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) alleged that a sealed restaurant at Miramar Residency was illegally opened and operated without permission.   

A complaint filed by GTDC Managing Director Kuldeep Arolkar alleged that Ashok Nayyar and others allegedly broke open the official seal affixed by GTDC on the main door of the restaurant premises and trespassed into the property.

The incident occurred before December 11 at the corporation-run Miramar Residency.   

In the FIR registered under various sections of BNS, the police said the accused then allegedly began operating a restaurant in the premises without the knowledge or consent of the Tourism Department.

An investigation has begun with the accused persons issued notices.
