PANAJI: The Goa Cabinet, which met on Friday granted its ex-post facto approval to the Goa University Amendment Act, which is already in force through an ordinance, which allows the University Chancellor to extend the term of the vice chancellor by one year.
The amendment which inserts a section 11A in the parent Act, allowing 'the chancellor on the recommendation of the State Government [to] extend the term of the vice chancellor by up to one year from the date of the expiry of the term of the incumbent.'
