The Career Counselling Cell of the Directorate of Student Placement & Alumni Relations (DSPAR), Goa University, has rolled out a state-level orientation programme on UPSC Coaching, to equip young Goans with the knowledge and motivation to pursue careers in the civil services.
Held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof Harilal Menon, the initiative reached colleges across Goa from April 1 to April 10, offering final-year students, recent graduates, and alumni a comprehensive overview of the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
As per a press statement issued by the GU, the team delivered sessions on the structure and strategy of the UPSC exams comprising prelims, mains and interviews along with syllabus analysis and preparation techniques.
The team highlighted the wider vision of the initiative -- to broaden career horizons, ensure job security, and promote nation-building; and also emphasised personal development and community leadership to inspire participants to become role models within their own social spheres. “This initiative aspires to empower and nurture young individuals aiming for careers in civil services, fostering value-driven education to build responsible and impactful citizens,” it said.
“Goa University remains steadfast in its commitment to creating a conducive environment for meaningful educational and professional pursuits. This initiative represents a significant step towards empowering students and contributing to the State’s socio-economic and administrative fabric,” it added.
