Goa University has decided to reschedule the Goa University Admission Rankings Test (GU-ART) examination to January 27 onwards. The deadline for applying for the examination has also been extended till January 16.
“The exams will be conducted on three Sundays “January 27, February 3 and February 10 for different subjects”, informed Goa University registrar Prof Y V Reddy confirming about the rescheduled exam dates.
University conducts GU-ART for students who wished to enroll for their Masters. Though GU-ART was held in June last year during the academic year 2018-19, the university decided to hold the exam in January for students who wished to enroll for Masters for the academic year 2019-20.
As such, a notification was displayed on the University website on December 7. However BJP supported Goa university student council and Congress supported NSUI have demanded rescheduling of the examination stating that students have no time left to apply and prepare for this exam.
The students expressed their apprehensions as students are busy in preparing assignment work and left with less time to prepare for the exam.
Goa University Students’ Council had written a letter to The Controller of Examination of the university demanding postponement of the exam.
The Chairman of the Goa university council Ram Naik along with Ex-Chairman Urvesh Redkar in press conference at BJP headquarters on Tuesday told media persons that Goa university has considered their demand.
Supporting their demand Urvesh Redkar said that exams were declared with short notice giving less time for students to prepare as the students are busy preparing for Inter-semester assessment (ISA) test.
NSUI is still not happy with new dates.
