After a season of experimentation going by, cricket aficionados in the State can now look forward to the return of domestic cricket returning to the State. With the idea of having neutral venues voted against favour after its failure to pull in crowds among other reasons, the home-and-away format In Ranji Trophy has made a comeback.
Under the new format, and with addition of Chhattisgarh into the fold, teams have been divided in four groups, alphabetically named A to D. Each group has teams placed a
ccording to their Ranji performance over the last three seasons. Goa has been placed in Group ‘D' in the League phase along with Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, Punjab, Bengal, SSCB and Chhattisgarh. They are scheduled to play Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Punjab at home while they take on Himachal Pradesh, SSCB and Bengal away. While unlike previously, this year, each group plays six games each in the League phase which is two games lesser than before. From the League phase, two teams advance from each Group to the knockout
