A day after being criticised for poor pre-monsoon work which left gutters blocked and water flooding the road near the temple at Tembwada-Morjim, the panchayat on Wednesday cleaned the gutters in the area.
Workers cleaned the gutters on both sides of the road near the temple, which had been flooded on Tuesday on account of heavy rains and blocked drains.
Locals said there are a number of constructions in the area and raw material is placed by the roadside, making it difficult for water to flow away and this has led to accumulation of water.
They claimed that areas like Mardiwada, Gaude-wada, Neuwada and Madhlawada do not have a gutter system.
