Expressing unhappiness over irregular power supply for several months, locals of Hankhane village in Pernem have submitted a memorandum to the electricity department officials to demand a solution to the problem.
Locals have claimed that power outages have caused problems for people in the village.
“Students find it difficult to pursue online education and online exams,” complained Gurudas Kalekar, a local from Hankhane village.
Others complained that businesses have also been affected due to power failures.
Rajan Korgaonkar from the organisation ‘Mission for Locals’ also accompanied the locals while presenting the memorandum to the electricity office in Pernem.
An official, Damodar Tari, assured the villagers that regular electricity service would be provided within the next few days.
