HC to hear plea on entry for fully vaccinated visitors on Mon

PANAJI

The Bombay High Court at Goa has kept for Monday the hearing on the Goa government’s application to allow all persons including tourists to visit the state without producing a Covid-19 negative certificate provided they are fully vaccinated.

The matter was initially scheduled to be heard on Wednesday for the Goa government to clarify a few aspects of the decisions taken based on the meeting of the expert committee as well as the state task force for Covid-19 management.

However, when the matter came up for hearing the Advocate General sought more time to brief the court on the matter.

The state has been pushing to allow those fully vaccinated to enter the state in a bid to reduce the hold ups at the state’s borders since testing on arrival was made mandatory.

In mid July, the High Court modified its orders to allow persons who have been fully vaccinated to enter Goa without having to produce a Covid negative certificate -- except tourists, who are visiting the state who will continue to have to produce a Covid negative certificate even if they have been ‘fully vaccinated’.
