Having got his men elected at the Cuncolim Municipal Council, Congress leader Yuri Alemao has a task cut out for him “ how to make the Council headed by Chairperson Laximanbab Naik amenable to the people. That the first Council meeting kicked up a row of sorts over the funding of the renovation of the freedom fighter’s memorial should hopefully come as a lesson to the father-son duo of Joaquim and Yuri. And, that their Chairperson has barred an activist from attending future Council meetings just because he petitioned the civic body over the memorial may not augur well for Yuri who has set his eyes on the 2022 electoral battle.
