An Election Observer, injured in a road accident in Panaji on May 24, is out of danger now and her health condition is improving, police officials informed on Thursday.“The officer has been shifted from Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to normal ward. Her health condition is now stable,” informed a police official attached to her guard duty.
Police have preferred to delay in recording her statement. “Her face is still swollen so we have not recorded her statement,” said police official.
Shella Marak, who was staying at the Panaji Residency, was out for a morning walk on May 24 when she met with an accident near the Panaji ferry promenade.
She received head injuries and was immediately rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in Bambolim. She was operated for head injuries and was under observation in the ICU. Her family members arrived in Goa and were looking after her along with the hospital staff.
