OLD GOA
The road leading to Temba Vaddy in Merces, from the Jack Sequeira junction, was submerged due to the heavy rains that lashed the State since Sunday.
This is an annual occurrence as the road submerges if there is continuous or heavy rainfall.
Locals have informed that filling of nearby low-lying area for government projects, including a court premises, is the primary reason for the road getting submerged.
“The low lying area used to act as catchment area during heavy rains. Now with the area filled due to government projects, the roads are getting submerged,” a local informed The Goan.
