Heavy rains, winds damage property in Bicholim, Sankhali

Heavy rains and strong winds damaged property and disrupted power supply in parts of Bicholim and Sankhali on Tuesday

 evening.  

According to reports, trees fell on houses at Desai Nagar in Sankhali damaging properties of Ramnath Nagvekar, Naryan Hazari, M Salgaonkar and Babasab Altkar.  

Power supply was disrupted for several hours at many places in Bicholim taluka.  

Bicholim Mamledar Pravinjay Pandit has instructed the talathis to prepare a detail reports on the losses.   

He has also stated that cyclonic winds along with heavy rains are also expected over the next few days.  

Sources said light to moderate thunderstorms are very likely to affect a few places over North Goa and South Goa districts during next 3 hours, while light to moderate rain is very likely to be accompanied with lightning, thunder and winds reaching speed of 15 knots.
