The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a “severe weather warning” for areas across the country that includes Goa over the next five days.

the goan I networkrPANAJI r rThe warning has asked people to be wary of “heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places over Konkan and Goa” on July 13, isolated heavy to very heavy rain with extreme falls very likely on July 14, heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places on July 15 and 16. rThe weather warnings come even as the State continues to witness deficit rainfall with the deficit standing at 220.2 mm rainfall below rnormal. rJune and July are when the state receives maximum rainfall which determines the fate of the kharif crop as well as water levels in the reservoir to ensure supply for the rest of the year.
