In an attempt to boost tourism in the State, the Tourism Department launched the heli-services at Dhauji-Old Goa as well as a tourism helpline number.

The same were launched at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the presence of Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai, NGZP Chairman Siddesh Naik, Se Old Goa Sarpanch Sandra Gonsalves, Director of Tourism Nikhil Dessai, GTDC MD Brijesh Manerkar, and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sawant said the need of the hour is to attract quality tourism and the launch of the heli-services is one step in that

direction.

However, Sawant said the government cannot provide services on its own and hence focuses on private-public partnerships like the one in the case of heli-services.

“The government will announce many tourism-related schemes in its budget to promote private-public partnerships,” the CM further said.

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said that the launch of heli-services is a milestone in the tourism sector of the State.

“Further, we are launching the tourism helpline number 1364 where a tourist will be able to get all the information on stay, excursion, exploration, ancillary services, etc,” the Tourism Minister added.
