Henceforth, CM's daily travel plan to be kept a secret

PANAJI: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has sent out instructions that his itinerary be kept secret as part of security measures that have been put in place over the last week.
Sources in the government have informed that the Chief Minister's itinerary is not made available to even his office staff and is deliberately kept a secret with the "security" being cited as the reasoning behind the move.
While Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has himself said that there was nothing unusual about the move and such instructions are not uncommon especially after review meetings being held by the Intelligence Bureau, sources have informed that it was the chief minister himself who flagged the issue after he felt uncomfortable that very often people with grievances were unexpectedly waiting for him at events.
"The chief minister himself raised questions over how the people including those with grievances to place before him were aware that he would be visiting the location which has led to concerns over how public his itinerary was," the sources said.
The Chief Minister being a former defence minister of the country continues to receive Z+ security even though it is not always enforced. Any perceived security threat is viewed seriously especially with the upcoming tourism season bringing increased alertness among security forces.
