PANAJIThe people of Goa are fighting with the novel coronavirus and many are succumbing to the deadly disease in the absence of appropriate preventive measures. Suggesting an effective homemade, herbal remedy to boost the immunity, Dr Shankar Komarpant has assured the public to trust its positive impact and adopt this simple measure of boiling the leaves and inhaling the ste
am of a commonly found plant in Goa, locally known as ‘Ghaneri’ (Lantana camara) to treat breathlessness, asthma, and saturated mucus in the chest. As comorbid patients suffer more when infected with coronavirus, and their immunity drops considerably, they experience shortness of breath. In this condition, Ghaneri leaves come handy in reducing this condition, says Dr Komarpant. He suggests that the use of the leaves of Ghaneri can help loosen the cough (mucus) in the lungs. “If five to seven leaves of Ghaneri are boiled in water for five minutes, and the steam of this hot water is inhaled by mouth by the patient, and the chest is exposed to the steam, the cough saturated in the lungs gets diluted and is thrown out of the body,” claims Dr Komarpant. The wounds in the lungs of the elderly, infected with coronavirus, take considerably more time to heal. As the cells too, are destroyed in the lungs, mucus gets collected in the lungs and the patient dies. If this cough is extracted from the lungs, the patient recovers. Ghaneri can do this extraction in a non-invasive, safe manner and even at home. The steam inhalation allows the cough to dilute and be thrown out of the body, says Dr Komarpant who can be contacted on 9823545289.
