A tourist arriving in Goa through Dabolim Airport on Friday recovered his bag containing cash and valuables after Goa Police’s SPCR (Highway Patrolling) team traced it.
The tourist had stopped at a shop after leaving the airport and, after paying through GPay, left without realising he had dropped his bag. He returned to the shop but could not find it.
He then approached a Highway Patrol team comprising Senior Police Constable Azim Patel and Police Constables Rupesh Bajantri and Shubam Lamani. The team began enquiries and received a crucial lead from a Swiggy delivery vendor, who said a taxi operator had found the bag.
The team proceeded towards Dabolim Airport, informed the airport taxi counter and coordinated with the Traffic Police Inspector and Dabolim Airport Police Inspector to contact the taxi operator. The operator confirmed he had the bag, which was recovered and returned to the tourist with its cash and valuables intact. The tourist thanked the police for their prompt response.
