VASCO
Holi was celebrated with great fervour and on a grand scale in the port town on Monday.
Members of Murgao Nagrik Shigmotsav Samiti (MNSS) observed the traditional rituals of offering prayers to Lord Damodar in Vasco before the commencement of Holi celebration in the port town in the presence of Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar.
Hundreds thronged the temple to begin Holi celebrations after offering prayers, with several people applying colour to each other. A truck with a huge music system and a live band belting out various hits moved across the city with a procession of several revellers participating in the Holi celebration with great fervour.
Drenched in a riot of colours, several Holi revellers were seen moving around on bikes and open jeeps in the city, and several families spent the day by the beaches at Hollant, Bogmalo, and Baina, which witnessed a large rush of people to celebrate the festival of colours.
