Saying the 18-day fifth session of the 8th Legislative Assembly will give an opportunity for the Opposition to raise issues & expose the failed, insensitive, irresponsible & corrupt BJP government, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has hoped the government under Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will show courage to face opposition on all 18 days without curtailing the session.
Reacting to the summons issued on Friday by Goa Legislative Secretariat, the Leader of Opposition said that it is evident the government is afraid of Opposition and hence has restricted the schedule only for 18 days.
“I hope MOGA is not the full form of ‘Minimisation of Goa Assembly’. Is adjournment of House sine die on Thursday to avoid Private Members Business in the last week? questioned Yuri.
He added: “I will soon convene a meeting of all Opposition MLAs to chalk out strategy of floor management. We will together work out an action plan to corner the government on the floor of the House.
He said Mhadei, mining, environmental issues, unemployment, rising prices, collapse of law and order, expenditure on events, corruption, failure to provide timely assistance to social welfare beneficiaries, failure to implement Budget announcements, economic slowdown, collapse of tourism and various other issues will be taken up.
“We will make optimum use of all working days of the session to raise issues and compel government to act in the interest of Goa,” he asserted.
