“The hospital had received a letter from Margao police at around 1 am on April 19 with a request not to hand over the dead body to the relatives. Till date, the hospital has not received any other letter from the Margao police to hand over the body to her relatives,” Dr Ira asserted, even as the Udayvar family produced before the media a copy of the letter written by Margao police to the hospital on April 19 to hand over the body to her relatives. On April 20, Dr Ira dashed off another letter to the Police Inspector, Margao with a request to make the medical legal case and conduct a post mortem and guide the hospital as to whom the dead body should be release. Till date, however, the hospital authorities are yet to receive any reply from Margao police. South Goa district Collector, Dr Sachin Shinde has called for a detailed report from the Hospicio Medical Superintendent, Dr Ira Almeida on the factual position why the authorities have declined to hand over Suchitra Udayvar s body to her relatives. It is learnt that the Hospicio Medical Superintendent has submitted her report, giving a time line of the developments that had taken place from the time Suchitra was brought dead in the hospital till date.
