The small & medium hotels and guest house owners have decided to call on the Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte with the issues plaguing the owners of small, medium hotels and guest houses.
Spokesperson Dixon Vaz informed that the owners met last week and discussed various issues related to their business such as Excise fees, solar energy, dip in the number of charter flights in Goa since pandemic wherein some of the guest houses have not reopened for the last two years, due to single widow system for renewal and many other tourism-related issues.
The members further stressed that 80 per cent of the tourists that stay in small hotels and guests houses which are run by Goans are in a bad shape due to non arrival of charter flights, therefore they have appealed to the government to help and support their establishments which are in distress.
Dixon said the owners have now decided to call on the Tourism Minister to appraise him on various issues that can help the tourism industry in the coming tourist season.
