House damaged at Pissurlem, river levels rise in Sattari

A house was badly damaged at Pissurlem while river levels rose sharply as heavy rains struck Sattari on Tuesday.

According to reports, the house belonging to Anuradha Ankush Parwar was severely damaged at Pissurlem and the family is virtually homeless as other portions of the house ate on the verge of collapse.

River levels at of Mhadei, Ragada, Valvanti and Velus rose sharply in Sattari on Tuesday and authorities are monitoring the situation and will warn people living by the riverbanks.

A number of trees are reported to have fallen on the main road in Chorla Ghat due to strong winds in the last two days, disrupting the traffic along the route.

Roads have also submerged at many places in Valpoi town and other parts of Sattari taluka.

The road leading to Koparde along the Valpoi-Thane road was flooded, while the main road in Honda was also inundated.
