People in large numbers and from different walks of life donned blue caps and filled one area outside Dabolim airport on Tuesday afternoon to welcome the arrival of AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
A visibly pleased Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre said Kejriwal’s visit has boosted the morale of Goans and also strengthen the party base in the State.
Mhambre also said Kejriwal would make a major announcement through a news conference on Wednesday.
"The mood of all supporters and Goans is charged up as Kejriwal has arrived in the State. Goans are aware of the many public benefits initiated by AAP in Delhi. They are looking for such initiatives in Goa and want to clean the dirty politics of defection in the State,” said Mhambre.
AAP State Vice President Adv Pratima Coutinho said Goan volunteers had arrived to welcome Kejriwal despite the heavy rains.
"Kejriwal will give a shock to political parties and announce a scheme which is sure to shake all political parties as they could not do it for Goans all these years. We are excited about his visit to Goa," said Coutinho.
AAP leader Sandesh Telekar said AAP volunteers had arrived from across the State to welcome Kejriwal.
"AAP is the only alternative for Goans and Kejriwal’s visit will not only fulfil the expectations of the people but strengthen all the supporters even more," said Telekar.
