Goa Board Chairman J R Rebello on Tuesday announced that a total of 16,913 students were attending this year’s exam, majority from the science category.
In all, 5,222 students will be appearing from the science stream, 5,142 from the commerce stream, 3,746 from arts and 2,803 for the vocational stream.
“Goa Higher Secondary examination will start on March 1. This year one thousand more students are enrolled for the exam
compared to last year bringing the total to 16,902 students, highest ever at Goa Board,” he said.
Exams will be held at 16 centres across the state of which the Cujira school complex will also be one.
This will be the first time a Goa Board exam will be held at the complex, said Rebello.
He added that arrangements for the exams including the traffic management were also in place.
Taking into account election counting on March 11, the Board has
also taken the decision to reschedule exams for the day to March 22.
“On 11 March, because of the counting of votes in Margao and Panjim, the paper on that day is shifted to March 22,” said Rebello.
He said the Board was in a position to declare the results to the exams earlier than expected and that
paper correction would begin as soon as exams concluded on March 22.
