At a crucial juncture in their academic careers, Goa’s HSSC passed students got to know various career options before them in an online webinar designed and presented by the Directorate of Higher Education jointly with the Chief Minister’s Office in which procedures to take a shot at the various competitive examinations and get a seat in prestigious institutions were elaborated.
Vithal Tilvi, Mahadev Gawas, Neeta Naik and Ranjit Kalangutkar were the resource persons who guided the proceedings.
Chief Minsiter Pramod Sawant urged the students to choose their career paths after carefully analyzing future employment opportunities including prestigious competitive recruiting sectors like UPSC, Banking and Railways.
Tilvi advised the students opting for the regular undergraduate courses such as BSc, BA and BCom to first pick the subjects they would like to choose and then decide which college they would like to go.
Gawas guided the students on the various colleges available for higher education in Goa, including the theatre and music college run by the Kala Academy.
Neeta Naik, who is Deputy Director of Higher Education, briefed on admission procedures. She said registration for NEET the competitive exam compulsory for admission to medical colleges in the country is open up to August 6 and also elaborated on the preparatory programmes available for it and other entrance exams like IIT-JEE.
Meanwhile, another webinar for careers in hospitality and events management and the education options in the field will be conducted on Wednesday.
