Former Shiroda MLA Subhash Shirodar, who recently leaped into BJP from Congress showed his might through the 'Vijay Sankalp' by taking out a huge rally.
When Shirodkar initially joined the BJP, the party was concerned that its supporters would not support a former Congressman. However, the rally on Saturday proved otherwise and turned out to be a political gain for Shirodkar.
Speaking to The Goan, Shiroda BJP block president Suraj Naik said that they received overwhelming response for the rally.
"Around 1500 supporters participated in this rally. It is a prelude that BJP will win the Shiroda seat," Naik said.
The rally headed by Shirodkar travelled through Shiroda constituency till late evening.
Ruling out the possibility that their own supporters may go against Shirodkar, Naik said. "All are with Subhash Shirodkar. Today's rally has proved it. Congress and others will face defeat. We will win."
